Founder & Principal, Juan-Carlos Ferrufino is passionate about working on challenging projects that have strong, long-lasting impacts on people's lives and their communities. His professional background is in Business, Economic Development, Multicultural Affairs and Commericial Lending. 

 

Juan-Carlos was the Education Committee Chairman for the FDIC’s national initiative, the Alliance for Economic Inclusion, whose mission was to enhance the economic well-being of low-and moderate-income families and immigrants by working with financial institutions and other partners to bring the unbanked and underserved into the financial mainstream. Prior to that, he worked in commerical banking for East Boston Savings Bank where he helped develop the Latino market in Boston. He was also a Program Director for ACCION USA and he served under the Menino administration as a Program Director for the Boston Main Streets Program, a city-wide program that focused on the economic revitalization of commercial districts, business retention, and capital attraction.

In his position as the Business Development & Training Specialist for the Center for Woman & Enterprise, Juan-Carlos was responsible for the management of 28 programs, including outreach, logistics and achieving program goals. He was also the first male hire in the organization’s history. During his time at CWE he played a key role in the publishing of Linda Pinson’s, 18 Steps to Start your Business (18 pasos para desarrollar tu negocio), for which he contributed to the book’s editing and Spanish translation.

 

Most recently he served as the City Wide Community Based Strategies Consultant at Thrive in 5 where he was responsible for coaching, mentoring and providing technical assistance to parent and agency leaders in the implementation of their community projects and related activities.

 

Juan-Carlos holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Universidad mayor de San Andres in La Paz, Bolivia and a Certificate from Boston University - School of Management.
